Dr. Yoshizawa is an Associate Professor of International Political Economy at the Faculty of Law, Kansai University (Japan). He is an alumnus of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programme on ‘Globalisation, Europe and Multilateralism’ (GEM PhD School) and holds a double PhD in political science from the ULB and the University of Geneva. His research centres on the internal and external dimensions of EU competition policy, and the regulation of digital platforms.
His research at the IEE-ULB
During a research visit between 22 September and 18 December 2024, he will conduct research on the EU’s digital and competition policies, which are relevant to two of the IEE’s research themes, namely ‘Europe as an area of economic and social regulation’ and ‘Europe in the World’.
On 9 December, he will give a presentation at the IEE’s seminar, entitled ‘EU Competition Policy Versus American Big Tech Companies’. This presentation will be based on a recent open-access article: Yoshizawa, H.
