Academic Interests

Chinatsu Yasuda is a doctoral student at the University of Tokyo, Japan.

Ms Yasuda holds a master’s degree from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a bachelor’s degree from Sophia University, Japan. She studied for a year at Sciences Po Paris as part of an exchange programme during her undergraduate years.

She is interested in EU policies, in particular the EU’s multiple cultural policies.

Ms Yasuda has been researching EU cultural policy since her master’s programme at the University of Tokyo.

Research at the IEE-ULB

Her research topic at ULB is ‘Reception and implementation of contemporary EU cultural policy in the Member States’.

Her research is linked to the IEE’s third transversal research theme, entitled ‘Europe as a community of norms and values’, as the EU’s current cultural policy is closely linked to the processes of cooperation and identification generated by European integration.

This visit will have enabled her to deepen her research by taking advantage of the latest research approach in Brussels, and by benefiting from Professor FORET’s advice.

Studying at ULB also gave her the opportunity to immerse herself in Europe. This enables her to conduct interviews with EU/Member State officials and to acquire external knowledge on the subject of her research by interacting with European and international researchers.
